Frontier and American Airlines Launch New Nonstop Flights To Caribbean Islands

Frontier and American Airlines have announced more nonstop flights from the United States to popular destinations in the Caribbean, giving Americans easier access to some of the best winter destinations.

This post will look at the latest flight routes from Frontier and American Airlines to the Caribbean.

American Airlines Launches First Ever Direct Flight From The U.S. To Dominica

Up until now Dominica, the nature island of the Caribbean, has only been accessible via intra-regional flights in the Caribbean.

American Airlines has launched its first-ever nonstop flights from the United States to Dominica.

The new service runs twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays from Miami to Dominica.

These new flights are sure to be a boom for Dominica, an island known for its hiking, diving, adventure, and eco-tourism opportunities.

Prime Minister Skerrit expressed excitement for the inaugural flight:

“Dominica is now within closer reach of our nationals, many of whom live in cities across the United States,” the Prime Minister said. He added,  “This provides a better opportunity for them to travel home more readily to connect with friends and family.”

Dominica is currently open for tourism under the country’s Safe in Nature health and safety program.

American Airlines Launches Nonstop Flights To Anguilla

American Airlines launched a new nonstop service between Miami and Anguilla on Dec. 11, making it the first carrier to offer a flight from the mainland U.S. to that island.

The flight currently operates twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturdays but will begin operating three flights a week on Jan. 5, 2022.

“We are thrilled and delighted that American Airlines is already incorporating additional service to our island, a testament to the strong demand for Anguilla and the premium tourism product that we offer,” said Stacey Liburd, Anguilla’s Director of Tourism.

Anguilla is currently open for tourism with low Covid-19 rates- see the latest entry requirements.

“We have worked extremely hard to provide a safe and enjoyable vacation experience to our visitors, with transparent entry protocols and now easier and more convenient access than ever before,” said Kenroy Herbert, Chairman of the Anguilla Tourist Board.

Frontier Launching New Flights To Antigua and Turks and Caicos
Earlier this month, Frontier flew its first flight from Orlando to Antigua, which was greeted with an exciting inaugural ceremony.

The CEO of Frontier, Barry Biffle, expressed his excitement at the ceremony:

“Frontier’s expansion in the Caribbean, and now the West Indies region, highlights our epic international growth story throughout the past year, while maintaining the affordable fares that shape our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ strategy,”

Minister Fernandez also expressed his gratitude, saying that the launch Airlines service is “welcomed news for Antigua and Barbuda as we head into the winter season.”

“With competitive fares on offer and greater connections to other U.S. cities out of Orlando, we expect to see a significant increase in stay-over visitors to Antigua and Barbuda from the U.S. market,” he said.

On Dec. 17, low-cost carrier Frontier will start its first-ever regularly-scheduled service between Orlando and Providenciales, Turks and Caicos. The flights will be incredibly affordable, starting at just $59 one-way, and will fly passengers to paradise in under 2 hours.

Turks and Caicos is currently open for tourism – see the latest entry requirements.

It’s the latest addition for Frontier, which has been continually adding new routes across the Caribbean amid the pandemic.

“Frontier’s expansion in the Caribbean highlights our epic international growth story throughout the past year, while maintaining the affordable fares that shape our ‘Low Fares Done Right’ strategy,” said CEO Barry Biffle.
